Square Appointments offers a free solo tier and paid plans for teams ^[1]. Square also earns mainly from the transaction fees of its own payment processing. This is where the difference is biggest. Salonnare runs on EU servers in Germany, is fully GDPR-compliant and speaks your language: the entire interface is available in Dutch, alongside English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Portuguese and Turkish, with support in Dutch.

Online payments work the way your clients expect: iDEAL natively (via both Stripe Connect and Mollie), Bancontact, SumUp and card. The POS calculates the correct Dutch VAT (21% and 9%, set per treatment and product) and you can export the sales per VAT rate for your bookkeeper.
