Foot-care records in an encrypted GDPR vault
Special-category data such as diabetes, rheumatism, circulatory disorders, medication and allergies lives in a separate, encrypted vault away from regular notes. Access is role-based and every view is logged. Intake is completed digitally up front and consent is stored GDPR-compliant on EU servers - important for medical foot care and at-risk feet.

POS with iDEAL, card and automatic VAT
Take payment instantly with iDEAL, card, Tikkie or cash. A regular pedicure falls under the standard VAT rate; medically necessary foot care can be VAT-exempt - Salonnare sets the right rate per treatment and splits it on one receipt. Sequential receipt number, daily revenue report and tip tracking per staff member. Receipts go to the client by email.

Fewer no-shows with deposits
Set a deposit per treatment (fixed amount or percentage) via iDEAL or card. On a no-show the deposit is withheld automatically; on a timely cancellation it is refunded automatically via SEPA. A required deposit works as a clear commitment threshold and can noticeably reduce repeat no-shows - important in a practice where every empty hour costs revenue directly.

Built for the local market
Salonnare is built for foot-care practices: iDEAL payments, VAT configurable per treatment (standard rate or exempt for medical foot care), and GDPR-compliant foot-care records in a separate vault on EU servers. A fixed monthly fee with no commission per booking - from €0 per month on the Free plan. View the pricing or read more about us.

Foot-care records with health data
Per client you record: diabetes, rheumatism, circulatory disorders, medication, allergies, earlier complaints and treatments performed. At every appointment you immediately see the relevant risk factors - important for the diabetic and rheumatic foot. Health data lives in a separate, encrypted GDPR vault with access control.
Digital intake and consent
New clients complete a digital intake form before their first visit: health questions, medication, diabetes status, allergies. Consent is stored digitally, GDPR-compliant. No more paper forms; everything is linked directly to the foot-care record.
Follow-up appointments for fixed intervals
Many foot-care clients return every 6-8 weeks for maintenance. Salonnare can propose a follow-up appointment at checkout and sends a reminder at the right time. Clients can reschedule or cancel themselves via an email link.
Class passes and packages
Sell class passes of 5 or 10 treatments with automatic deduction on each booking, or build maintenance packages. Expiry dates, reminders and re-order nudges when the pass is nearly used up. This is one of the many features Salonnare offers.
A typical day as a pedicurist with Salonnare
You start the day with the dashboard: all appointments lined up, including the health summary per client - diabetes, anticoagulants, earlier corns or nail problems. Between treatments you open the foot-care record on a tablet and log what you did: callus removed, ingrown nail treated, pressure point noticed. After the treatment the client pays at the register, receives the receipt by email and automatically gets a follow-up reminder in 6 weeks. At the end of the day you close the register with one click: daily revenue, VAT split per rate and payment types. All automatic, no paperwork.
Practical tips for pedicurists
Set a mandatory intake for new clients and a shortened check-in for returning ones - just ask whether anything has changed in medication or health. Schedule follow-ups at 6-8 weeks: that is the natural maintenance rhythm for most feet. Use class passes for loyal clients - it lowers churn and secures prepaid revenue. Document pressure points and skin conditions consistently in the record so you have a complete overview when referring to a podotherapist or GP. And actively collect reviews: foot care runs largely on word of mouth and a strong online profile.
Why Salonnare for your foot-care practice?
Many pedicurists work as sole traders with a paper diary and loose intake forms. That works for a handful of clients but not as you grow or offer medical foot care with sensitive health data. Salonnare centralises everything: digital intake, foot-care records in an encrypted GDPR vault, follow-up appointments, automatic reminders and an iDEAL POS - with no commission. The Free plan is free for solo pedicurists. View the pricing or read more about us.
Tax specifics: VAT, receipts and medical foot care
A regular, cosmetic pedicure falls under the standard VAT rate. Medically necessary foot care - for example diabetic or rheumatic foot care on referral - can be VAT-exempt where it qualifies as a medical service. Salonnare supports both: per treatment you set the right rate, so "cosmetic pedicure" carries standard VAT and "diabetic foot care on referral" can be exempt. The receipt shows this clearly split and the daily report aggregates revenue per rate. The tax authority may request additional documentation for exempt foot care (referral, treatment plan). Salonnare lets you keep a record per client where referral letters are stored GDPR-compliant. Every transaction gets a sequential receipt number, timestamp and user identification. Cash rounding follows the official rule automatically. Export to your accounting package runs via CSV in the format of common bookkeeping tools.
Seasonal peaks: spring, summer and the holidays
Foot-care practices have clear seasonal peaks. Spring is traditionally busy: clients prepare their feet for sandal season. Summer peaks the cosmetic pedicure with bare feet and holidays. November-December is gift-card season: digital gift cards for a pedicure are a popular present and can make up a meaningful share of December revenue. Salonnare shows gift cards prominently on the booking page with suggested amounts and personalised messages. The waitlist catches peak drop-outs: when someone cancels within 24 hours, the first person on the list automatically gets an email notification - the difference between an empty afternoon and a full schedule. In quiet periods promotions keep your calendar full. View all marketing features Salonnare offers to automate seasonal campaigns.
From sole trader to foot-care practice: scaling as a pedicurist
Many pedicurists start as solo sole traders on the Free plan (€0, 1 staff member, 50 bookings per month) and move to Starter (€29) once they pass the 50-booking limit. The next growth step is a second pedicurist or a podotherapist in a shared practice space. The Starter plan supports 3 staff members, the Pro plan unlimited. In a shared practice each practitioner has their own availability, treatments and prices; clients book through the same widget and choose a specific practitioner or "first available". Foot-care records can be shielded per practitioner - important for medical treatments with sensitive health data. Reporting shows revenue, occupancy and retention per practitioner so you quickly see who is lagging commercially or overloaded. Multi-location is on the roadmap and is coming soon for pedicurists growing to a second site. View the pricing plans for details per tier.
Frequently asked questions about pedicure software
Is Salonnare suitable for medical foot care with health data?
Yes. Health data such as diabetes, rheumatism, medication and allergies lives in a separate, encrypted GDPR vault away from regular notes. Access is role-based and every view is logged. Everything is on EU servers and complies with GDPR.
Can I set a different VAT rate per treatment?
Yes. Per treatment you set the right rate: a cosmetic pedicure under standard VAT, medically necessary foot care on referral can be exempt. Salonnare splits this automatically on the receipt and in the daily report.
Can follow-up appointments be proposed automatically?
Yes. Per treatment you set a follow-up interval (for example 6-8 weeks). Salonnare proposes a follow-up at checkout and automatically sends a reminder at the right time.
Does it work with class passes for regular clients?
Yes. You can sell class passes of 5 or 10 treatments with automatic deduction on each booking, plus expiry dates and re-order reminders when the pass is nearly used up.
Is Salonnare suitable for a mobile pedicurist?
Yes. Per treatment you set whether it is on site or at the client’s home. The client’s address is carried into the calendar automatically. The Free plan is perfect for solo pedicurists who work on the road.
Can I store referral letters and treatment plans per client?
Yes. Per client you can store documents such as referral letters and treatment plans GDPR-compliant in the record. When referring to a podotherapist or GP you can export the complete record to PDF - only with explicit client consent and automatically logged in the audit trail.
Which payment terminal can I connect to the POS?
Salonnare works with common card terminals via direct amount linking or manual entry. Stripe Terminal (WisePad 3, BBPOS) is natively supported for integrated card payments - the register sends the amount straight to the device and logs the transaction to the correct receipt automatically.
Does Salonnare work with a receipt printer for physical receipts?
For now Salonnare sends receipts to the client by email. Integration with thermal receipt printers for physical printouts is on the roadmap.
