Online grooming through your own booking page
Owners book a grooming appointment 24/7 through your own booking widget or from the Salonnare marketplace. No account needed - just name, phone and the desired treatment. Paste one copyable snippet into WordPress, Wix, Squarespace or your Instagram bio. Confirmation email and email reminder go out automatically.

Records per owner and pet
Every owner has a full profile with their pets: breed, coat, preferences, allergies, behaviour notes and a photo history of earlier grooms. Your groomer immediately sees which clip style and which products were used last time - no surprises. GDPR-compliant on EU servers, with a client portal for self-service.

POS with iDEAL, card and automatic VAT
Take payment instantly with iDEAL, card, Tikkie or cash. Grooming and retail products carry standard VAT - Salonnare splits this automatically on one receipt. Sequential receipt number, daily revenue report and tip tracking per staff member. Receipts go to the owner by email.

Fewer no-shows with deposits
Set a deposit per treatment (fixed amount or percentage) via iDEAL or card. On a no-show the deposit is withheld automatically; on a timely cancellation it is refunded automatically via SEPA. A required deposit works as a clear commitment threshold and can noticeably reduce repeat no-shows - important because a groom can block a full hour of your calendar.

Records per owner and pet
Store one or more pets per owner with breed, coat, weight, preferences, allergies and behaviour notes ("pulls on the leg", "afraid of the clipper"). Photos of earlier grooms help with repeat appointments: the owner points to a photo, you know exactly which clip style and length is wanted.
Follow-up appointments for fixed intervals
Most dogs come every 6-8 weeks for a groom, some breeds more often. Salonnare proposes a follow-up at checkout and automatically sends a rebook reminder at the right time. Owners can reschedule or cancel themselves via an email link.
Track inventory and retail
Keep shampoo, conditioner, detangling spray and care products in inventory with automatic low-stock alerts. Sell retail at the register as an upsell after the groom. View all inventory and POS features in the overview.
A typical day in a grooming salon with Salonnare
Your day starts with the dashboard: all grooms lined up, including the record of each pet. For a regular client you immediately see which clip style and length you used last time and any behaviour notes ("calm while blow-drying, startles at the nail scissors"). During the treatment you open the record on a tablet and add photos of the result. Afterwards the owner pays at the register (card, cash or Tikkie), receives the receipt by email and automatically gets a rebook reminder in 6 weeks. Inventory updates and at the end of the day you close the register with one click: daily revenue, VAT and payment types.
Growth tips for grooming salon owners
Offer add-on services on every groom: nail trimming, ear cleaning, de-shedding treatment or a spritz of cologne. Add-ons raise your average ticket without extra calendar time. Use the loyalty feature to digitise stamp cards - a discount on every 10th groom works better than one-off promotions. Set your rebook interval per breed: a Doodle needs maintenance more often than a short-hair. Do not forget retail: link shampoo and detangling spray to treatments and recommend them at checkout. And actively collect reviews - a grooming salon runs largely on word of mouth and a strong online profile.
Why Salonnare for your grooming salon?
Many grooming salons use a paper diary or a generic calendar app that offers no online booking, no automatic reminders and no record per pet. Marketplace-based systems take commission per booking, costing you hundreds of euros a month on a full calendar. Salonnare offers everything a grooming salon needs - online booking, calendar, records per owner and pet, POS, reminders and inventory - for a fixed fee with no commission: Free (€0, 1 staff member), Starter (€29) or Pro (€59) per month. Retention as a grooming salon: how to use rebook automation
Grooming salons have a natural, predictable maintenance rhythm: most dogs come every 6-8 weeks, some breeds (Doodles, Poodles, Bichons) even every 4-5 weeks. In theory that lets you see a regular client 6 to 12 times a year - but in practice almost no salon achieves that without a rebook system. How does it work in Salonnare? At checkout the owner is asked: "Shall I book the next groom in 6 weeks on Thursday 10:00?" - one click confirms. If they do not, the system sends an email reminder with three free slots around the expected maintenance moment. For owners who do not return after 90 days a win-back campaign starts with a discount on the next groom. You can track your rebook rate and annual revenue per client month by month in the Salonnare dashboard. The loyalty module with a digital stamp card encourages loyalty - but what works in your salon depends on your price segment and client volume.
Tax and POS for grooming salons
Grooming falls under the standard VAT rate, as do all retail products you hand over (shampoo, detangling spray, care products). Salonnare calculates this automatically and splits it on the receipt. Every transaction needs a sequential receipt number, timestamp and user identification - this happens automatically without any setup. Payment types are tracked separately: iDEAL, card, Tikkie, cash and gift card. The end-of-day report gives the daily total, VAT split and tip total (kept separate per staff member for payroll where groomers are employed). Cash rounding follows the official rule automatically. Export to your accounting runs via CSV in the format of common bookkeeping tools. Your business registration number and VAT ID are printed automatically on every receipt and invoice.
Seasonal peaks for grooming salons: spring, summer and the holidays
Grooming salons have clear seasonal peaks. Spring is extremely busy: after winter owners want the winter coat out and a fresh summer cut. Summer peaks demand for shorter cuts due to the heat. November-December is gift-card season: digital gift cards for a groom or care package are a popular present for dog lovers and can make up part of your December revenue. Salonnare shows gift cards prominently on the booking page with suggested amounts and personalised messages. The waitlist catches peak drop-outs: when someone cancels within 24 hours, the first owner on the list automatically gets an email notification. In quiet periods promotions keep your calendar full. View all marketing features Salonnare offers to automate seasonal campaigns.
From one grooming salon to multiple locations (coming soon)
Successful grooming salons often grow to 2-3 locations or expand with extra groomers. Many groomers start as solo sole traders on the Free plan (€0, 1 staff member, 50 bookings per month) and move to Starter (€29) or Pro (€59) as the calendar fills. In a salon with multiple groomers each groomer has their own availability, treatments and prices; owners book through the same widget and choose a specific groomer or "first available". Multi-location is on the roadmap and is coming soon, with a central dashboard showing revenue, occupancy and satisfaction per location. The records per owner and pet are then available cross-location so a regular client can be helped at another site without hassle, and per-location inventory with internal transfers prevents double purchasing. Frequently asked questions about dog grooming software
Can I keep a separate record per pet under one owner?
Yes. Each owner has a profile under which you record one or more pets with breed, coat, preferences, allergies, behaviour notes and a photo history of earlier grooms. So at an appointment you immediately see which animal it concerns and what you did last time.
Can I set different durations per breed or treatment?
Yes. A short-hair groom can take 45 minutes, a full Doodle groom 2 hours. Per treatment you set the right duration, price and any add-ons; the calendar blocks the right time automatically.
How do follow-up appointments for fixed grooming intervals work?
Per treatment you set a follow-up interval (for example 6-8 weeks). Salonnare proposes a follow-up at checkout and automatically sends a rebook reminder at the right time. Owners can reschedule or cancel themselves via an email link.
Can I store photos of earlier grooms?
Yes, unlimited photos per pet, easy to upload from phone or laptop. Handy to see the exact desired clip style and length again at the next appointment.
Can I require a deposit when booking online?
Yes, per treatment you set a deposit (for example €10 or 30%). The owner pays via iDEAL when booking; on a completed groom it is settled against the final invoice. On a no-show the deposit is withheld automatically. A required deposit is in practice one of the most effective ways to reduce no-shows.
Does the POS work with Mollie or Stripe for online payments?
Both are supported. Mollie is popular with local businesses for lower iDEAL transaction costs and also supports Bancontact, SEPA and card. Stripe Connect is handy if you pay out multiple groomers via platform payments. Both integrate directly with the booking widget for deposits and no-show fees.
Is Salonnare suitable for a mobile groomer?
Yes. Per treatment you set whether it is on site or at the owner’s home. The address is carried into the calendar automatically. The Free plan is perfect for solo groomers who work on the road.
Does Salonnare work with a receipt printer for physical receipts?
For now Salonnare sends receipts to the owner by email. Integration with thermal receipt printers for physical printouts is on the roadmap.
